Matt Olson had the entire Chicago metropolitan going through it over the weekend.
During Sunday’s series finale between the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field, the Braves slugger Olson got a hold of a ball in the third inning and sent it to infinity and beyond. Olson’s two-run shot (off Cubs lefty Justin Steele) went a seismic 453 feet and gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead.

Perhaps even better than the titanic blast was the reaction of a Cubs fan who was sitting front and center behind home plate. The fan reacted to Olson’s homer with an expression of pure shock and awe. Check out the video.

That was Olson’s 39th home run of the season, putting him just one behind Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani for the MLB lead. Regrettably, though, it wasn’t enough as the Cubs got two runs back in the bottom of the third inning and went on to win 6-4, taking two out of three games from the Braves in the weekend series.
Cubs fans are usually a pretty loud bunch, especially given the recent drama that went on between the Braves and Cubs. But at least for a brief moment in time on Sunday, Olson was able to turn Wrigley Field into a library.
