David Feldman Praises Conor McGregor Following BKFC Ownership – ‘It’s A Big Plus’

David Feldman is talking up Conor McGregor following the Irishman’s decision to become a part owner in the BKFC. 

The Notorious confirmed his new venture while the BKFC KnuckleMania 4 card on April 27 was ongoing. The agreement means that ‘McGregor Sports and Entertainment’ has a stake alongside Triller, who will remain the majority shareholder. The Irishman’s interest in BKFC is well known. He turned up at BKFC 41 last year to square off against Mike Perry during a face-off. Perry has been vocal about his desire to fight McGregor in BKFC. 

McGregor has also sponsored their events with his Proper Twelve and Forged Irish Stout. While the Irishman has not fought since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, he makes his comeback against Michael Chandler on June 29 at UFC 303. Dana White has already said the gate for the fight is over $20 million. This is a huge feat, given there is still over a month before the fight. That shows McGregor’s influence, which helps BKFC.

“There’s a lot of people throwing money in the combat sports landscape right now, (but) the money isn’t the hardest thing to come by. It’s getting the right partnership. We didn’t want just a money partnership with Conor McGregor because that doesn’t make sense. We want input, we want his persona, we want him to blow it up and do the things that he does. He’s got great ideas. He’s got phenomenal business acumen. Look, the guy has built a lot of stuff around his career and what he’s done, so we don’t want him to be quiet. We want to make as much noise as possible.

“There’s a lot of things out there in sponsorships, TV deals, and different types of investments and different places to do fights, and I think all of those things, Conor McGregor lends a big hand in. Just his name and how he talks about the sport and how much he likes it and where he thinks this sport is going to go, it’s only a big plus for us,” Feldman said

McGregor’s UFC Return

Elsewhere, McGregor showed off his leg kicks ahead of his fight with Chandler. McGregor has his first fight since breaking his leg against Poirier. That was his third loss in his last four UFC bouts. Chandler has not fought since losing to Poirier at UFC 281 in 2022.

The American chose to wait for the McGregor fight rather than take fights in between. The question is whether McGregor will be the same fighter. Chandler will likely target McGregor’s legs, testing whether the injury has fully healed. The Irishman may be anticipating that, as he shared a picture of himself doing leg kicks.
